The width of the track along the entire route should correspond to the Chinese standard, that is 1435 mm, and speed of the trains should exceed 250 km / h.

Concept of the project was presented by the President of Association Victor Mironenko at the round table discussion: "High-speed highway and transit potential, within the framework of initiative - One Belt - One Way", which took place on Wednesday, August 15, according to TCC.

Project involves creation of alternative New Silk Road from China to Europe. The total length of the railway corridor should be 5100 km (excluding sea segments), which is 200 km shorter than the Eurasian land bridge (China-Kazakhstan-Russia-Belarus-Poland), through which containers from China to the European Union now pass. "These 200 km will save at least $ 4.5 billion with an average cost of 1 km of a high-speed railway at $ 21 million," Mironenko said.

According to the presentation, the high-speed highway is planned to be used for passenger and freight traffic. "Even today, China is carrying out tests of cargo transportation on high-speed railways. The proposed route can be used to transportation of containers," said the president of High-Speed Railways Association. Forecast data of cargo and passenger traffic during the discussion were not announced.
High-Speed Railways Association, as well as the Silk Link Association of Silk Roads said that the submitted draft is only a concept and requires feasibility study. For this purpose, the organization plans to appeal to foreign investors, including China.
